Actavis Bimatoprost 300 mcg

Physician’s initial choice of glaucoma treatment will more likely to be a medical eye drop, although if the first option does not work, your physician will try another way. Ophthamic solutions for glaucoma should be taken seriously. They are not just a topical agents, but are medications used to treat an eye problem that can even lead to impaired vision. Actavis Bimatoprost 300 mcg is a newest formulation in the field of medical eye drops and is successful in controlling the progression of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Bimatoprost, the active ingredient of the medicine is considered as the first line treatment in the medical management of glaucoma and is used once a day, preferably before bedtime. The beneficial component reduces intraocular pressure by promoting removal of fuid called aqeous humor from the eye. According to clinical studies, prostaglandin analogs like Bimatoprost are able to reduce pressure by 30 to 35%. Furthermore, an additional drop in pressure is noticed when Bimatoprost eye drops are used in combination with other ophthalmic solution.

Glaucoma and its impact

Glaucoma is a medical condition in which the optic nerve of the eyes gets damaged. An eye condition can become worst also, if not treated on time. This condition happens due to the pressure build up inside the eyes. The increased pressure, called intraocular pressure, can damage the optic nerve, which transmits images to your brain. If Glaucoma is left untreated then it can permanently damage your vision. This happens when the liquid within the front of the eye does not circulate in the required manner as it should be. Normally, the fluid referred to as body fluid, this flows come out of your eye through a mesh-like channel. The liquid builds up if this channel gets blocked, and this is what causes eye disease. The explanation for the blockage is unknown, however, doctors do realize it is genetic. Less common causes include a blunt or chemical injury to your eye, severe eye infection, blocked blood vessels within the eye, and inflammatory conditions.
