Desogestrel 75 microgram is a progesterone-only pill, which inhibit ovulation without increasing the risk of side effects. Each tablet contains 75 micrograms of Desogestrel as the active ingredient. It works by preventing the sperm cells from entering the womb and avoid pregnancy. Most POPs are not always effective in preventing the egg from ripening which is why a combination of progesterone/estrogen pills are available. However, Desogestrel is different from other pills, in most cases, it prevents the egg cell from ripening, which makes it a highly effective contraceptive formulation. It is an ideal option for those women who do not tolerate oestrogens and by women who are breastfeeding. The hormonal contraceptive does not protect against sexually transmitted disease such as AIDS.

Clinical uses of Candesartan 32 mg

Desogestrel is a prescription hormonal contraceptive containing a small amount of female sex hormone, the progestogen desogestrel. It helps to prevent the sperm cells from entering the uterus and egg cell from ripening. As a result, prevent pregnancy.  It is not effective in treating AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases. Speak to your doctor for treatment options for STDs (in cases you have).

Usage Instructions

Always use hormonal contraceptive pills exactly as your gynaecologist has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure about the medicine. Desogestrel usually comes in a pack of 28 tablets for oral administration. Your doctor will tell you the order to take the pills, each day corresponds with one tablet. Whenever you start a new hormonal contraceptive pack, take a pill from the top row.  Do take out just any tablet. For instance, if you start on a Tuesday, you must take out the tablet from the top row marked with Tue (Tuesday). Continue to take one pill a day until the pack is empty, carefully follow the directions indicated by the arrows. Be sure to check the pack, this way you can easily check if you have already taken a pill on a day. You may have bleeding while receiving the hormonal contraceptive, but you must continue the medicine to take your pill as normal. Once the pack is empty, start with a new pack on the next day, without interruption.

Desogestrel only pill should not be used by women who have a history of breast cancer, malignant hepatoma, severe active liver disease, and used liver enzyme-inducing drugs. If any of these conditions apply to you, please speak to your doctor before you wish to begin a Desogestrel pack. It is important to check your breast and inform your doctor if you feel any lump in the breast. Before receiving the hormonal contraceptive pills, let your doctor know of all the medicines or non-medicinal products you have been using.  Your POP can interfere with other medicine causing either an increase in effect or decrease in effect.
