Desogestrel 75 mcg
|Description||Desogestrel 75 mcg|
Desogestrel 75 microgram is a progesterone-only pill, which inhibit ovulation without increasing the risk of side effects. Each tablet contains 75 micrograms of Desogestrel as the active ingredient. It works by preventing the sperm cells from entering the womb and avoid pregnancy. Most POPs are not always effective in preventing the egg from ripening which is why a combination of progesterone/estrogen pills are available. However, Desogestrel is different from other pills, in most cases, it prevents the egg cell from ripening, which makes it a highly effective contraceptive formulation. It is an ideal option for those women who do not tolerate oestrogens and by women who are breastfeeding. The hormonal contraceptive does not protect against sexually transmitted disease such as AIDS.
