Apigat 5mg

Apigat 5 mg tablet contains the active ingredient Apixaban, which belongs to a group of medications known as anticoagulants or blood thinners. Apixaban 5 mg used for:

  • Preventing blood clots from forming after knee or hip replacement operations. After a knee or hip surgery, you may be at increased risk of developing blood clots in your leg veins. This can cause swelling of the legs, with or without pain. If a blood clot travels from your legs to your lungs, it can give rise to blockage of blood flow, ultimately causing breathlessness, with or without pain. This problem can be deadly and requires immediate medical help.

  • Preventing blood clots from forming in a patient’s heart with an irregular heartbeat and at least one additional risk factor. If blood clots travel to the brain, it may lead to stroke or other problems and prevent normal blood circulation to that organ.

  • Treatment of blood clots in the veins of your legs and the blood vessels of your lungs and for prevention of blood clots from reoccurring in the blood vessels of your legs and lungs.
