This medicine is prescribed only for postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. It is used in the adjuvant treatment of early-stage (invasive) hormone receptor-positive breast cancer after surgery, first-line treatment of metastatic hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, and second-line treatment of advanced breast cancer in women whose disease progressed on tamoxifen.
