Bempesta EZ 180mg/10mg is a prescription tablet for lowering cholesterol levels in the bloodstream. Each pill carries two active components: Bempedoic acid and Ezetimibe. Bempesta EZ is useful in causing a significant reduction in blood cholesterol levels in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia (conditions that result in high levels of fats, including cholesterol in the bloodstream). Patients taking this medication should follow a low-fat diet. Combination medicine is also prescribed to reduce the risk of heart disease in adults or issues affecting the heart and blood circulation, which include stroke, heart attack, or other problems associated with the circulatory system caused by the buildup of fatty deposits along the walls of arteries. Bempesta EZ is given along with a statin or without a statin in patients who can't take statins and who are already using Ezetimibe. In such patients, Bempedoic acid/Ezetimibe replaces the Ezetimibe they are already taking.
Bempedoic acid blocks the activity of a certain enzyme that takes part in the production of cholesterol. This results in a significant reduction in the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, commonly referred to as "bad cholesterol," in the blood, as well as a decrease in other fatty substances produced by the liver. On the other hand, Ezetimibe works by adhering to a protein, preventing cholesterol from being absorbed into the bloodstream from the gut.
Precaution with Bempedoic acid and Ezetimibe
- Bempesta EZ 180mg/10mg is contraindicated during pregnancy. No data demonstrates the use of Bempedoic acid/Ezetimibe in pregnant women. However, it is thought to cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women. The combination medicine should be discontinued before conception or as soon as you identify pregnancy.
- Furthermore, women of reproductive potential should use effective contraception while receiving Bempesta EZ. The medicine is also contraindicated during breastfeeding.
- The combination medicine should not be given to children and adolescents under 18. The use of this medicine has not been studied in this age group.
