Desowen lotion 0.05% is a medication prescribed to reduce skin inflammation and irritation caused by conditions such as dermatitis, eczema, rash, and certain allergies. It comprises of the active ingredient Desonide, a corticosteroid medication which works by reducing the redness, swelling, and itching that occur in these conditions that are highlighted above. The generic form of Desowen is available as DeSowen. Rub and massage the formulation on the affected area of the skin gently till it spread evenly all over the affected skin area. The product is not recommended for use in patients less than three months of age.

Precautions

Usage Instructions

Use Desowen lotion only on the skin. Wash your hand before applying the lotion and make sure you apply on clean and dry skin. You need to apply a thin film of the formulation to the area of the skin and gently rub it into the skin. Generally, the lotion is applied 2 to 3 times daily, and the user is advised not to wear any bandage or wrap the treated area with clothing. Unless they are instructed to do so. After applying the lotion, be sure to wash your hands unless you are applying it on your hands. When using the medication around the eyes or nose, avoid getting it into the eyes or nose as this can cause severe side effects. If you get this topical medication into your eye, immediately wash it with water. Remember, use Desonide lotion only for the condition prescribed.
