Eldicet 50mg treats and relieves symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome is a chronic inflammatory disease of the large intestine that usually requires long-term management. This results in bleeding, bloating, cramps, frequent diarrhoea, and stomach pain. Eldicet contains the active ingredient Pinaverium, which causes relaxation in your muscles and intestines and effectively relieves these symptoms. Usually, it is used in combination with other medicines to manage the condition. This medicine is also indicated for treating symptoms associated with functional disorders of the biliary tract.
Eldicet 50 mg is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pinaverium bromide or any ingredient. The safety of pinaverium bromide during pregnancy has not been established in pregnant women. Therefore, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, Eldicet 50mg should not be used during breastfeeding. If you have allergies or have had a previous allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in Pinaverium, avoid taking this medicine. If you are lactose intolerant, speak to your health care specialist, as this medicine contains lactose if you have lesions or damage to your oesophagus, including a hernia affecting the oesophagus. Also, avoid taking this medicine if you have other medical conditions and are taking other medicines.
Most people tolerate Eldicet 50 mg pretty well. Like any other medicine, however, Pinaverium can cause side effects in some people. Most of the side effects are mild when they occur. Some people may feel vomiting, nausea, stomach pain, fullness, constipation, bloating, and diarrhoea. Since these side effects are similar to the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, it may be tough to differentiate between the two. Eldicet tablets may cause side effects like nausea, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, and heartburn.
Note that following lifestyle modifications like having a rich fibre diet, increased fluid intake, and regular exercise can help you achieve better results. Lesions or damage to the oesophagus may occur if Pinaverium tablets are not taken as the doctor advises. If you get these or any other problems while taking this medicine, speak to your doctor.
The usual dose is 50 mg thrice daily. Your dose may be increased as per your condition. Taking the tablet with a glass of water during meals or snacks is recommended. The tablet should not be swallowed when in the lying position or just before bedtime. The duration of the treatment depends on the conditions for which Pinaverium is prescribed.
Continue using the medicine for as long as your doctor advises you. You need to take this regularly to receive maximum benefits. Follow a fibre-rich diet, avoid oily or spicy food, and drink a lot of water while taking this medicine to ensure you stay hydrated. This medicine is not recommended for use in children.
