Foracort inhaler 6/100 mcg is used long-term, twice daily, every day to control asthma symptoms and prevent symptoms such as wheezing in patients twelve years of age and older. Foracort treats asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as follows:

• Asthma- Foracort inhaler is prescribed to control asthma symptoms and prevent symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, and breathing difficulty.

Foracort inhaler contains two medicines:

• Budesonide - It is an inhaled corticosteroid medicine. Corticosteroid drugs help decrease the inflammation in the lungs, leading to asthma symptoms.
• Formoterol - Formoterol is a long-acting beta-agonist medicine or LABA, which is extremely effective in patients with asthma. Beta agonist drugs help the muscles around the airways in your lungs stay relaxed to prevent asthma symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, or shortness of breath. These symptoms usually develop when the muscles around the airways tighten. This causes breathing difficulties. These symptoms appear when the muscles around the airways are constricted. This makes it hard to breathe. In severe cases, breathing problems may lead to death if not treated immediately.

How to use Foracort inhaler 6/100 mcg-formeterol and budesonide?

Do not use a Foracort inhaler unless your doctor has taught you. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions. Use the product exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is recommended to take two puffs in the morning and two puffs in the evening. In case you miss a dose of the inhaler medication. It is best to use the inhaler drug at the same time you normally do. Ask your doctor if it is safe to use this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before using it, you should inform your doctor if you have a kidney or liver disorder so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. 

What are the Precautions (warning, allergy, things to remember)?

Foracort inhaler does not relieve sudden symptoms. Always carry a short-acting agonist medicine with you to treat sudden symptoms. If you do not have this type of medicine, contact your doctor to have one prescribed for you to relive a sudden episode of asthma. Do not discontinue treatment unless advised by your doctor. The combination inhaler drug should only be used if your doctor decides that another asthma-controller medicine alone does not control your asthma or that you need two controller medicines. Call your doctor if breathing problems worsen over time while using the Foracort inhaler

What are the Side effects of Foracort inhaler?

Common side effects of Foracort inhaler include:

• Palpitations, trembling or shaking
• A fungal infection is called thrush in your mouth. To avoid this, rinse your mouth with water
• Headache
• Mild sore throat, coughing, or hoarse voice
• Pneumonia

Let yoru doctor know if you develop symptoms of a lung infection. These include increased mucus production, fever, chills, and breathing difficulties. Other side effects include feeling dizzy, muscle cramps, disturbed sleep, feeling restless, blurred vision, nausea, fast heartbeat bruising of the skin.
