Heximar B ointment is a topical prescription treatment for Psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions. It is used for the treatment of mild to moderate plaque psoriasis in adults. The ointment comprises of two active topical ingredients namely betamethasone dipropionate and calcipotriol monohydrate, both works by decreasing inflammation and boost immune response towards various conditions. Clinical Uses of Heximar B Ointment

Heximar B is a topical medication used to treat inflammation caused by the number of conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and allergic reactions. It contains betamethasone dipropionate and calcipotriol monohydrate as the active ingredients, both works together to reduce the action of a certain chemical in the body that cause redness, inflammation, and swelling.

Dosing Instructions

Heximar B ointment should be applied once daily to the affected area. Take a pea size amount to cover the area affected with psoriasis, gently rub the medication until it gets completely dissolved. Be sure to apply the medicine on clean, dry skin. You can wash your skin with a mild cleanser and water. Using Heximar ointment on wet skin may cause skin irritation.  Do not apply to areas that do not have psoriasis. A dermatologist will best determine the correct dose and duration, so consult a dermatologist before using the medicine. Most people notice improvement within four weeks while some may need to use it for a more extended period to get the best results. This topical treatment should not be discontinued once satisfactory improvement is achieved. Complete the treatment course as per your dermatologist’s instructions.

After applying the medication, you are not supposed to take a shower for several hours. The drug needs to stay in contact with psoriasis affected area to work. Avoid applying the ointment on your face, larger areas of damaged skin, wounds, or cuts. Wash your hands after using the medication so that you do not get the medication on other parts of your body especially eyes, nose, and mouth. If the medication gets into your eyes, nose or mouth, immediately wash with plenty of water.

Heximar B ointment has some severe side effects which include increased risk of infection, muscle weakness. Psychosis, and severe allergic reactions. In addition, using This combination of topical treatment for a long time can cause adrenal insufficiency. Discontinuing the drug may cause worsening of psoriasis.
