Hytrin 2 mg is formulated for those patients who are suffering from high blood pressure. It is used in the general treatment in conjunction with a thiazide diuretic or other antihypertensive agents for achieving maximum benefits when it comes to patient response. Here it is important that Terazosin tablets are not used to delay the progression of BPH. Uses Of Hytrin 2 Mg     

Hytrin contains Terazosin, which falls into the category of drugs known as adrenergic blockers.  It is helpful in treating mild to moderate high blood pressure.  Your doctor may also recommend this 2 mg tablet for treating symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Dosage Information

Take medicine with or without food. Begin the treatment with the lowest dose that is 1 milligram. Hytrin may cause a sudden drop in your blood pressure which could contribute to dizziness and fainting. This risk is higher in those who are taking their first dose. So, to avoid injury related to dizziness and fainting, prefer taking your first dose of Terazosin at bedtime.

Your doctor will ask to initiate the treatment by taking the low dose and gradually increase your dose based on the treatment response and other associated factors. The dosage generally depends on the medical condition and response to treatment. Once it is prescribed to you, take it regularly to experience maximum effects. Try not to miss any dose because in case you miss taking the tablet for a few days; you may need to restart the treatment with the lowest dose and gradually increased your dose again. 

Potential Side Effects

The medicine is known to lower the blood pressure which may give rise to lightheadedness, weakness, or dizziness. Other side effects associated with the use of Terazosin include heavy sweating, difficulty breathing chest pain, irregular heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and dehydration. This drug may sometimes cause confusion and may interfere with the activities that require attention.
