The oral medications the active ingredient Terazosin, which falls into the category of medicines known as antihypertensives. The exact mode of the hypotensive action of Terazosin is still not understood. But it is believed that the hypertensive agent reduces blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow through the, more efficiently. Older men may also receive Hytrin 5 mg for their treatment of enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH).
