Korandil - 10MG

Korandil 10mg is an effective medicine to reduce pain and discomfort in the heart caused by cardiovascular disorders. It is widely recommended to reduce the intensity of pain in various heart conditions including angina chest pain. It is available in the form of a pill which you can take orally.

Use of Korandil 10mg:

This medication is used to treat some heart conditions including chest pain and discomfort in the heart. Those patients who are unable to take certain cardiovascular drugs like beta-blockers or calcium antagonists are advised to take this medicine. This drug is not recommended for children and pregnant women.

 What does Korandil 10mg contain?

Its main active ingredient is nicorandil which belongs to a group of medicines called ‘potassium channel activators’. Nicorandil is very effective in treating long-term chest pain (angina).

 How does Korandil 10mg work?

This medicine works by increasing the blood and oxygen flow through the blood vessels of the heart. The improvement in the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart can reduce chest pain and strengthen heart muscle. It triggers guanylate cyclase to increase the production of cyclic GMP, thereby activating protein kinase G. As a result, GTPase RhoA is inhibited and Rho-kinase activity is decreased by the medicine. The myosin phosphate activity is accelerated, and the calcium sensitivity of the smooth muscle is reduced.

 Side Effects of Korandil 10mg tablets:

There are some rare but possible side effects of this medicine, such as:

• Headache
• Flushing
• Irregular heartbeat
• Darkening of urine
• Skin rash
• High potassium levels
• Muscle pain or stomach pain
• Dizziness
• Swelling
• Nausea
• Fatigue
• Vomiting and Weakness
• A decrease in blood pressure
• Hypotension and Reflex Tachycardia (in the case of high doses)

 Consult your doctor if you experience any of these side effects.

 Drug Interaction:

There are some specific medicines that may interact with this drug. Such medicines include Tazzle 10mg, Viagra and some ED drugs. Consumption of alcohol while taking Korandil medicine is not advisable.

 Precautions:

Medical advice is needed if you have to take this medicine in the cases of Hypovolaemia, Low systolic blood pressure, and acute pulmonary edema. Consult your doctor if you are allergic to the active ingredients of Korandil 10 mg tablet. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are not recommended Korandil tablets. In the case of a missed dose, you should not take an extra dose next time.
