Nailrox 8% 5ml is a clinically proven nail lacquer used for the treatment of fungal infections of the nails, medically termed as onychomycosis. These fungal infections commonly affect the fingernails and toenails, ultimately leading to symptoms such as nail discolouration, brittleness, thickening, and crumbling. The active ingredient in the nail lacquer is Ciclopirox olamine, an antifungal agent specifically formulated to penetrate the nail plate and interfere with fungal growth in the nail. The medicated nail lacquer directly affects the nail and surrounding skin, making it a preferred choice for managing mild to moderate fungal infections.
Ciclopirox solution, the active ingredient in the nail lacquer, disrupts the fungal cell membrane and directly affects essential cellular processes. If the nail lacquer has dried on your skin, you can use alcohol to remove it, then wash it off with soap and water. Avoid using the product in the eyes or on any mucous membrane, including the nose, mouth, or vagina. In case of accidental application, rinse it off with water straight away.
An infected nail that becomes unattached or loose should be removed monthly by a healthcare specialist to achieve optimal results. Diabetics or those with numbness in their toes or fingers should talk to their healthcare provider before trimming their infected nails or completely removing any nail. If you develop redness, itching, a burning sensation, blistering, oozing, or scaling at the application site, call yoru healthcare specialist straight away. Avoid applying the product near heat or an open flame, as Ciclopirox is flammable. Also, do not use nail polish and other nail cosmetics on treated nails.

Most people who use Nailrox 8% 5ml tolerate it well. Some may experience mild burning, itching, redness, and irritation, especially during the initial days of treatment. Be sure to thoroughly clean and dry the affected nail before applying nail lacquer. Trim the nail or remove any excess nail material, as advised by the healthcare professional. A thin layer needs to be applied to the entire nail surface, including the nail tip. Allow the solution to dry completely before covering the nail with socs. The solution must be removed periodically, usually once a week, using alcohol as instructed by your healthcare specialist. The duration of treatment is often long, ranging from several months due to slow nail growth. Moreover, the complete clearance of the infection depends on healthy nail growth.
