 How does Qutipin 50mg work?

Qutipin contains Quetiapine as an active moiety which improves produces an antipsychotic effect by restoring the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain. It reduces hallucinations and improves concentration. The therapeutic activity of the medicine is mediated by the combination of antagonism at Dopamine 2 (D2) and 5HT2A receptors. Antagonizing 5HT2A receptor activity helps in the relieving the negative symptoms of schizophrenia and on other side, D2 receptors release positive symptoms. This, in turn, decreases the extrapyramidal side effects such as:

1. Motor Restlessness
2. Continuous muscle spasm
3. Irregular jerky body movements
4. Tremor
5. Slowness of movements

It also exerts some anti-depressant effect with high affinity for histaminergic receptors and alpha adrenergic receptors. The medicine is widely used for the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.

 What does Qutipin 50mg contain?

Qutipin contains Quetiapine as an active ingredient which reduces the symptoms and elevates mood, sleep, and energy levels. The general initial dose recommendation for the treatment of Schizophrenia is 50 mg twice a day and can be maximally increased up to 450 mg.  The medicine is therapeutically quite effective and has minimal undesirable effects.

• Suffering from diabetes or hypertension
• Suffering from heart disorders
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding

 How should Qutipin be used?

Qutipin is an oral tablet, taken with a glass of water or as advised by the doctor. Generally, it is recommended twice daily but it may vary depending upon your severity of the condition. They may be taken with or without a meal. The initial dose starts from 100 mg and then can be increased maximally up to 450 mg.  Always consume the dose as prescribed by the doctor.
