Resteclin 500 mg is a prescription medicine used to treat bacterial infections in your body. It is effective in treating some infections of the lungs, eyes, urinary tract, and others. It is a tetracycline antibiotic that kills bacteria to improve symptoms and cure infections. This antibiotic can also be given to treat many sexually transmitted diseases. Make sure you use your antibiotic only under a doctor’s supervision. Using an antibiotic when not required causes it to not work for future infections.
How to use
Resteclin 500mg should be taken on an empty stomach. Take it regularly as per prescribed by your doctor. The dosage usually depends on what you are being treated for, and for whatever condition you are using this tetracycline antibiotic, you should finish the entire treatment course as prescribed by your doctor. Do not discontinue treatment until you have finished, even when you feel better. Stopping it too early may let the bacteria survive, and the infection may return.
Before taking medicine, let your doctor know if you have a history of allergy to any antibiotic drugs or have had liver or kidney problems. Also, inform your healthcare provider of all the medications you are taking as they may affect the mode of action of tetracycline antibiotics, or your antibiotic may affect the action of other drugs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their health care specialist before taking Resteclin capsules.
Commonly seen side effects of Resticlin 500 mg are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and skin reaction on sun exposure. Several other side effects of the medicine include discolouration of teeth, decreased appetite, inflammation of the mouth, low blood platelets, tongue discolouration, and itching. Inform your doctor right away if any of these side effects persist or if you are concerned about them.
