Rpigat 15 mg contains the active ingredient Rivaroxaban. This anticoagulant medicine primarily treats and prevents deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism by reducing clot formation. Deep vein thrombosis is a medical term in which blood clots develop in deep veins, usually in the legs. On the other hand, pulmonary embolism means blood clots that block the arteries in the lungs. Rpigat reduces the risk of stroke and blood clots in people with an irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation). In such patients, part of the heart doesn’t beat as it should. This can result in the formation of blood clots that can travel to the brain, causing a stroke or to other parts of the body. It also causes a significant reduction in the risk of forming a blood clot in the lungs and legs of people who have just had knee or hip replacement surgery.
Rivaroxaban inhibits the production of clotting factors by reducing the action of vitamin K. This helps to prevent the conversion of a soluble protein, Fibrinogen, to an insoluble protein, fibrin, thereby preventing blood clot formation.
Do not take Rpigat 15 mg if you are pregnant because this may cause harm to the unborn baby. Use Rivaroxaban with caution in pregnant women due to the potential of obstetric hemorrhage. Be sure to use effective contraception during the treatment. Rivaroxaban should be used with caution in patients with lung problems, liver disease, or kidney issues. It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Rivaroxaban tablets. Your healthcare provider should be aware of your drinking habits.
This medicine may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Driving a vehicle or operating a heavy machine is unsafe if you develop any symptoms affecting your ability to concentrate. Do not take any Rpigat formulations with certain abnormal bleeding or are allergic to Rivaroxaban. Rpigat 15 mg is not recommended in patients with Prosthetic heart valves. Especially, let your health care professional know if you take ketoconazole, indinavir, ritonavir, itraconazole, lopinavir, phenytoin, rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, and St.John’s wort.
Like any other medicine, Rpigat 15 mg can also cause unwanted effects. Even though all medications cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Common side effects of the medicine include cough, fever, vomiting, gastroenteritis, limb pain, and decreased general strength and energy.
Serious side effects of the medicine include severe skin rashes, heart problems, and excessive bleeding.
Take Rpigat 15 mg, an oral medication to be swallowed with a glass of water. For adults who cannot swallow whole tablets, Rpigat 15 mg may be crushed and mixed with applesauce immediately before administering orally. After taking the crushed 15 mg tablet, the dose should be immediately followed by food. Your doctor may stop Rivaroxaban briefly before any surgery or medical surgery.
