Ulcerative colitis

For adults- The recommended initial dose is 500 mg every 12 hours. The recommended maintenance dose is 500 mg every six hours.

For children above two years of age- The initial recommended dose is 6.7 to 10 mg/kg every 4 hr or 10 to 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 13.3 to 20 mg/kg every 8 hour. 7.5 mg/kg every 6 hour is the preferred maintenance dose. The maximum dose should not exceed 2 g daily.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

For adults- The recommended dose is 500 mg to 1 g daily for one week. Your health care specialist may then increase your dose by 500 mg daily every week to 2 g daily in two divided doses. In case there are no results seen after a period of 12 weeks, the dose may increase to 3 g daily and must be given in two divided doses.

For children above six years of age- 30 to 50 mg/kg daily is the suggested dose which should be given in two divided doses. The maximum dose must not exceed 2 g daily.

When should Sazo EN not be used?

  • The anti-rheumatic medication is not made for patients who are hypersensitive to salicylates, sulphonamides, sulfasalazine, or other excipients of the medication.

How long should Sazo EN be used?

Missed dose of Sazo EN
