Suminat 100mg is a prescription medicine indicated for the treatment of acute migraine headaches with or without aura in adults. Antimigraine medication is safe and effective for treating cluster headaches. It treats migraine attacks with or without aura, which are the first signs that a migraine headache is on its way. Aura symptoms include visual disturbances and/or smells. The medicine is specially used for migraine attack treatment and to relieve other symptoms, including nausea and sensitivity to light. Still, it is not used for common headaches, and this does not prevent migraine headaches. The drug can be used at any time of the migraine attack, but it's most effective when used with the first sign of migraine attacks, with or without aura.
Suminat 100mg contains the active ingredient Sumatriptan, a serotonin agonist that constricts blood vessels in the head, relieving the headache and other symptoms of the migraine attack. The medicine is sold under various brand names, such as Imitrex and Imigran. This drug is used to treat the pain of migraines, and it's not a permanent cure for migraine headaches. Suminat tablets are not effective in treating other types of headaches, such as hemiplegic (which makes you unable to move on one side of yoru body) or basilar, which is a rare form of migraine with aura.
Suminat 100mg is not recommended for patients who have shown hypersensitivity to Sumatriptan or any other ingredients in the preparation. Do not take Suminat 100 mg tablets if you have any of the following conditions:
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Heart problems or a history of heart problems
- Seeber liver disease
- Narrowing of blood vessels to yoru legs, stomach, arms, or kidneys
- Hemiplegic or basilar migraines. If you are unsure if you have these types of migraines, ask your healthcare specialist.
- Had a transient ischemic attack, stroke, or problems with yoru blood circulation.
- Taken certain medication in the last 24 hours. These include almotriptan, ergotamines, rizatriptan, naratriptan, eletriptan, dihydroergotamine, and a combination of Sumatriptan and naproxen.
It is still not known whether the medication is safe and effective in children under 18 years of age. Before you take Suminat tablets 100mg, let your healthcare specialist know about all your medical conditions, including if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, are overweight, have had epilepsy or seizures, are pregnant, breastfeeding, or are not using effective birth control. Sumatriptan tablets can cause dizziness, drowsiness, or weakness. If you develop any of these symptoms, avoid driving a car, using machinery, or engaging in complex activities that require alertness.
Side effects of Zoldonat 4mg
Tell your healthcare specialist if you do not feel well while taking Suminat 100 mg. The medicine helps most people with migraine headaches, but as with all drugs, it may have unwanted effects. All drugs can have side effects. Sometimes they are severe; most of the time they are not. You may need medical attention if you experience serious side effects. Tell your healthcare professional if you observe any of the following and they worry you:
- Weakness
- Prickling, warm feeling
- Drowsiness
- Numbness
- Chest tightness
- Flushing
- Blue colored nails
- Hearing changes
- Mood changes
- Coldness in the hands or feet
How to use?
Suminat 100 mg is used as prescribed; follow your healthcare provider's guidelines. Always keep in mind that your physician is the right person to determine the correct dosage for you. After analysing your condition, they will recommend the dosage that best suits you. What you need to do is stick to that dosage plan and follow it regularly. The recommended dose of Sumatriptan is 25mg, 50mg, or 100mg. Doses of 50 mg and 100 mg may be more effective than 25 mg, but a 100 mg dose may not be more effective than 50 mg. Higher doses are always associated with a greater risk of adverse effects. If the migraine has not resolved within two hours of taking Suminat tablets, or returns after a transient improvement, a second dose may be given at least two hours after the initial dose. The maximum daily dose is 200 mg, to be taken within 24 hours. In cases of mild to moderate liver insufficiency, the maximum single dose should not exceed 50mg.
Continue taking Suminat 100 mg for as long as your physician recommends. Take your medicine at the same time each day to help you remember to take it regularly. If you miss a dose of Suminat 100 mg, take it as soon as you notice, but if you are close to your next dose. If you take too much of this medicine, call yoru healthcare specialist straight away.
