Cobix 200 mg capsules contain Celecoxib, an NSAID agent that relieves the inflammatory symptoms like pain, tenderness, redness, and swelling. It belongs to the class of COX- 2 inhibitors and stops the production of inflammatory mediators that causes pain and inflammation. Cobix is the most preferred medicine prescribed in mild to severe inflammatory conditions.

What is Cobix used for?

  • For the symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and osteoarthritis
  • For the management of severe pain and treatment of primary dysmenorrhoea in adults

The decision to prescribe Cobix should only be made:

  • if non-pharmacological interventions and simple analgesic treatments have been tried and found to lack analgesic efficacy or to have unacceptable adverse reactions in the patient
  • after evaluation of the patient’s overall risks

How does Cobix work?

Cobix capsules contain Celecoxib as an active ingredient that selectively binds to the enzyme receptor and stops the transformation of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin, which are the precursors of inflammatory mediators. Prostaglandins are the chemicals that produce an inflammatory response like fever, pain, tenderness, and swelling. The drug stops the production of precursors of inflammation and heals the pain.
