Clofert 25 mg tablets are used for the treatment of women's infertility. Clofert promotes the normal functioning of the ovaries, permits an egg to mature and its release, called ovulation, and later it gets fertilized. Clofert tablets are prescribed to women who are incapable of conceiving because their ovaries are not functioning properly and causing anovulation. In short, it helps to counter women's infertility by restoring releasing of ova or ovules from the ovary.
Clofert contains Clomiphene citrate as the main active component. Doctors also prescribe this medicine to restore healthy menstrual cycles in women who are experiencing irregular ovulation or an abnormal absence of menstruation due to several factors, including intake of oral contraceptives or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Lower doses of Clofert tablets are also used to treat male infertility.
The working mechanism of Clomiphene
Clomiphene induces ovulation by interfering with the normal hormonal feedback loop in the body by increasing the hormone release that stimulates the release and development of the egg. Clomiphene works by blocking estrogen receptors in the pituitary and hypothalamus, preventing estrogen's negative feedback on the release of FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), which is essential for ovulation.
Clofert 25mg should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Clomiphene and other components present in the formulation.
