Cutisoft cream 1% is a smooth, white, aqueous cream containing hydrocortisone as the active ingredient. Hydrocortisone is a steroid medication applied to the skin to reduce inflammation. It is effective in relieving the redness, itching, dryness, inflammation, and discomfort associated with various skin conditions (contact dermatitis, insect bite reactions, irritant dermatitis, and mild to moderate eczema). Hydrocortisone works by lowering the production of substances that contribute to inflammation.
Do not use Cutisoft cream 1% if you are allergic to hydrocortisone or any other ingredients in the medicine. An allergic reaction can include mild symptoms such as itching or a rash. More severe symptoms include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, with trouble swallowing or breathing. You should not use Cutisoft cream if you have an untreated skin infection. People dealing with rosacea should not use hydrocortisone cream. If you have ulcers or an infection at the site of treatment. Do not apply Cutisoft cream if you have pale or reddened patches of skin. Let your dermatologist know if you take any medications (prescription, OTC, herbal) before they prescribe you hydrocortisone, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cutisoft cream 1% should be applied evenly as a thin layer and gently rubbed in with your fingertips. It is applied once or twice daily for up to 1 week, or as directed by the dermatologist. Once the skin condition improves, the frequency of application can be gradually reduced. Avoid covering the area with plaster or dressings. Before you apply the cream, wash your hands, squeeze a small amount onto your fingertips, and gently rub a thin layer of the formulation over the inflamed, itchy area. Let your dermatologist know if you have used this cream for more than a week by mistake. If you apply more than the recommended amount, the side effects can occur. You should avoid using Cutisoft cream 1% if you have psoriasis, ulcers, or develop an infection at the treatment site. Speak to your healthcare specialist and avoid coming near a naked flame, as there is an increased risk of severe burns.
