Locula eyedrop 20% is indicated for treating bacterial eye infections, including conjunctivitis and other superficial ocular infections. It contains the active ingredient Sulfacetamide, an antibiotic medicine that fights off the infection by stopping the growth of the bacteria that cause it. This helps to cure underlying bacterial infections, relieving symptoms such as pain, itching, redness, and swelling caused by an eye infection. For optimal results, make sure you complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the bacterial infection is cured completely and prevents its recurrence.

Prolonged usage of such topical antibacterial agents may give rise to the overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi. Bacterial resistance to Locula eye drops may also develop. The ophthalmic preparation is incompatible with silver formulations.

You should not use other eye drops or ones that contain nitrates while using Sulfacetamide Ophthalmic. Apart from this, there are no significant drug interactions. However, there may be some other interacting drugs. Tell your ophthalmologist about any other drugs or products you may use. Make sure you do not use any medications on your own. Medicines must be taken strictly under the supervision of a doctor.

If you wear contacts, remove them before applying the eye drops and wait for at least fifteen minutes before reinserting the lenses. Ensure a gap of at least five minutes before applying any other ophthalmic preparations to the eyes.

Use Locula eye drops as directed by your healthcare professional. Read the information given on your prescription provided by your healthcare provider. The eye drop is for ophthalmic use only. Continue using the ophthalmic product even if your symptoms improve. Rinse your hands before and after use.  Avoid wearing contact lenses unless advised to do so by a healthcare provider.

For conjunctivitis and such bacterial infections, initially use one or two drops into the conjunctival sacs of the affected eye every two to three hours. Dosages may be increased or decreased as the condition responds. To avoid contamination, avoid touching the tip of the bottle to the eye, eyelid, or any surface. For application, tilt your head back and, by squeezing the bottle, pour a drop of the medication into the eye. After application, keep your eyes closed for a while. Press on the inside corner of the eye with the help of your fingertips. Do this for about 1 to 2 minutes. This keeps the ophthalmic solution in your eye.  If you think you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
