Omez 10 mg

Omez 10 mg is a prescription medicine that belongs to a group of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPI). It contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, which reduces the acid in your stomach. Omeprazole capsules are used in the management and treatment of several conditions, including uncomplicated heartburn, gastrointestinal reflux disease or GERD (where acid from the stomach escapes into the gullet), peptic ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (too much acid in the stomach), erosive esophagitis (inflammation that damages the lining of the esophagitis), helicobacter-pylori infection.

How to use (infographics and instructions)

Take Omez 10 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not change your dose without consulting him. Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take and for how long to take them. This usually depends on your condition and how old you are. Take the capsule an hour before a meal. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not crush the capsule. Carefully follow your doctor’s instructions when taking this gastrointestinal drug.

Precautions (warning, allergy, things to remember)

Do not use Omez 10 mg if you are allergic to Omeprazole or many other ingredients in the medication. It should also be avoided if you are allergic to PPI medicine.

Before taking Omeprazole capsules, tell your doctor if you have been told you have low magnesium levels. Your doctor should also know your pregnancy status or if you plan to become pregnant. However, it is not known if Omeprazole will harm your unborn baby. You should also inform your doctor if you breastfeed, as the gastrointestinal drug can pass into your breast milk and may harm your baby.

Mention all your medications, including vitamins and herbal products, to your doctor, especially if you take nelfinavir, cilostazol, atazanavir, saquinavir, voriconazole, tacrolimus,  digoxin,  phenytoin, diazepam, warfarin, clopidogrel, disulfiram, rifampin, St.John’s wort, erlotinib, and methotrexate.
