Pentids 400mg is an oral prescription medicine prescribed for treating a variety of bacterial infections. It is effective in treating infections of the throat, nasal sinuses, respiratory tract, rheumatoid fever, skin and soft tissue, and sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis.

Pentids contains the active ingredient Penicillin G, an antibiotic used to treat many bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause the infection. When taken as advised by the healthcare specialist, it usually makes you feel better quite quickly. You must continue taking the tablet as instructed, even when you feel better, to ensure that all bacteria are destroyed and do not become resistant. For treatment of syphilis (a serious bacterial infection that can affect multiple parts of the body), Pentids tablets kill the bacteria and prevent them from spreading and causing long-term complications. Early treatment with Penicillin G supports faster recovery and reduces the risk of serious health problems. When it comes to preventing rheumatic fever caused by the bacterium Streptococcus, antibiotic therapy helps relieve inflammation and prevent disease recurrence.

Tell the healthcare specialist before consuming Pentids 400mg if you are hypersensitive to the drug or its components. Also inform them about any liver diseases, kidney diseases, fever, or asthma, history of allergies (you have allergies to food, medicines, and other substances), taking contraceptives or being below the age of 16 years if you are a woman of childbearing potential. You should discuss the positives and negatives of taking Penicillin G during pregnancy. Breastfeeding women are advised not to take Penicillin G as it may pass into the breast milk and harm the nursing baby. Suppose your doctors have told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars. This medication may cause dizziness. Do not drive or use machinery while taking Penicillin G, as these activities may require a high degree of mental attention. Avoid consuming Pentids if you are taking any of the following medicines: Oxytetracycline, Probenecid, Tetracycline, Typhoid Vaccine Live, Minocycline, Methotrexate, Mycophenolate, Lymecycline, BCG Vaccine Live, Doxycycline, Demeclocycline.

How to use it? (infographics and instructions)

The drug is available as tablets. You may take the drug one hour before or two hours before meals. Swallow the medicine with plenty of water. Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Do not alter the dosage plan. In general, the dose regimen varies from patient to patient and depends on the patient's age, weight, and condition.  The paediatric dose of Penicillin G depends primarily on the patient's weight. The doctor may prescribe the medication based on the pediatric patient's body weight. Take the medicine regularly to get the best results. To help you remember, take the tablets at the same time each day.

In some cases, the condition may worsen when the medicine is stopped suddenly. Your dose may need to be slowly decreased immediately, in the case of an overdose of Pentids. You may experience:

  1. Appearance of rashes on the skin
  2. Change in the behaviour
  3. Confusion
  4. Decreased urination

Take the tablets for as long as your healthcare provider recommends.

Missed Dose - If you have forgotten a dose, take it as soon as you remember and resume your usual dosing schedule. If the next dose is due soon, leave the forgotten dose and take the next one. Do not double the dose to make up for the forgotten dose.
