Usage instructions for best results

Every time you need to take an inhalation, it is important to follow these instructions:

  1. Unscrew the cover of the mouthpiece; while doing so, you may hear a rattling sound. Hold your Symbicort straight with the red grip at the bottom.
  2. Do not hold the mouthpiece while loading a dose. To load the device with dose, be sure to turn the red grip as far as it will go in one direction. Then, turn it as far as it will go in the other direction. You must hear a clicking sound. It doesn’t matter whether the sound comes in the first or the second twist. Now, the device is loaded and ready to use. Load it only when you need it.
  3. Hold the device away from your mouth. Gently breathe out. Avoid breathing through your Turbuhaler.
  4. Place the mouthpiece between your lips. Breathe in as deeply as you can through your mouth.
  5. Remove the device from your mouth. Then, gently breathe out. With Symbicort, you may be sure you have inhaled the dose, and the medicine directly delivers it into your lungs.
  6. Please repeat the steps if you have been advised to take another dose.
