Sumatriptan is a group of medication that is used in treating migraines. It helps to get relief from a headache, pain, and other symptoms of migraines such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light/sound. Prompt treatment of a migraine can help you back to live your normal daily routine and decreases your need of other pain medications. Sumatriptan belongs to a drugs category called ‘triptans’ that is used to treat migraines. It relieves pain instantly by affecting specific nerves in the brain. How to use

While taking this drug, you may feel dizzy or drowsy. Avoid driving, using machinery, or any activity that requires alertness until you feel you can perform such activities safely. Also, avoid smoking or taking alcoholic beverages. The risk of liver disease, heart disease or high blood pressure increases with age. Older adults can be more sensitive to the side effects of Sumatriptan, especially in case of increased blood pressure and heart problems.
